.lumen has won the MedTech award at the Tech Awards Gala Berlin 2023, an event dubbed as the "Oscars" of technology in Germany.

The gala held in Berlin on December 16 was hosted by the Mayor of Berlin, Mr. Kai Wegner. This year, over 250 start-ups applied for the prestigious award, and .lumen was the only start-up from Romania present in the final.

"It was an honor to be in Berlin this weekend and to be the first to go on stage. This event held in Berlin's historic town hall brought together all the important local players in the world of start-ups. To have the opportunity to be there, to present what we did and to be declared the winner by a jury of 30 professionals is a superb end to the year", declares Cornel Amariei, CEO and founder of .lumen.

It was the start-up's mission to help visually impaired people live a better life that helped winning this award. The glasses for the blind reproduce the main characteristics of a guide dog, all in a scalable product. They will allow users to have a better mobility, helping them to have easier access to education and then jobs, thus helping to improve their social life.
