This July, .lumen returns to Geneva for the second time to attend one of the world’s most transformative gatherings on artificial intelligence: AI for Good Global Summit, hosted by the United Nations, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and co-convened with the Government of Switzerland.
Between July 8–11, our founder and CEO Cornel Amariei and our Head of Business Development Endre Hunnyadi will join global leaders shaping the future of AI.
On Thursday, July 10, from 15:40–16:00 CEST on the Frontier Stage, Cornel Amariei will deliver a keynote titled “Pedestrian Autonomous Driving for the Blind: reimagining AI for global inclusion.” In it, he presents a bold idea: what if self-driving technology wasn’t just for cars, but for people?
It’s a radical reframe of AI’s potential. Today, more than 338 million people are visually impaired, and yet only 28,000 guide dogs exist globally. Mobility remains one of the most overlooked challenges in accessibility.
That’s where .lumen steps in.
Cornel will demo our CE-certified glasses for the blind, the world’s first wearable device that mimics the guidance of a trained guide dog using haptics and real-time spatial AI. Attendees will see the glasses in action, experience the haptics guidance system, and understand the sheer depth of independence they can offer.
Unlike other assistive tools that rely on human input or limited enhancement, our patented Pedestrian Autonomous Driving (PAD) AI system functions like a self-driving car engine, on your face. With proprietary algorithms, and a groundbreaking haptic feedback interface, .lumen’s glasses “pull” your head in the right direction, allowing users to avoid obstacles and confidently navigate complex environments.
As a startup born in Romania and backed by the European Innovation Council, .lumen proves that deep tech can be both life-changing and globally scalable.
