.lumen wins Europe’s Best MedTech at TUM Venture Labs Competition
Munich, September 29, 2026 – .lumen has won Europe’s Best MedTech in the post-certification category at the competition organized by TUM Venture Labs Healthcare in Munich during Bits & Pretzels 2026.
The competition brought together 120 European MedTech startups, out of which 12 were selected to pitch across two categories: six pre-certification companies and six post-certification companies. Hosted by Brainlab, the event convened investors, regulatory experts and leaders from across Europe’s healthcare ecosystem.
The award includes participation and exhibition space at health.tech 2027 in Basel, along with a regulatory support package provided by CertHub.
.lumen won the post-certification category with the .lumen Glasses for the Blind, a
a device that uses Physical AI to understand the world and haptics to guide blind individuals the same way a guide-dog does.

Two awards in one week
The recognition in Munich comes just days after .lumen won the Grand Prize at Glovo Tech Catalyst Romania 2026.
The Glovo award includes a €5,000 prize and participation in StartUp Campus 2026, held at Glovo’s headquarters in Barcelona. The competition is dedicated to Romanian companies at the scaling stage, with validated products and the potential to expand internationally.
The two awards recognize different aspects of .lumen’s progress: Europe’s Best MedTech reflects the maturity of its medical technology and its post-certification development, while Glovo Tech Catalyst recognizes the company’s ability to scale and bring its technology to new markets.
