.lumen partners with Ascendis to launch the largest study on Employment of People with Disabilities

More romanian companies are on a inclusion journey, looking for ways to hire and integrate people with disabilities. But there is still a long way to go before Romania will be a truly inclusive country.

.lumen, the startup that creates innovative glasses that aid the mobility of the blind and Ascendis, the leader of the training and organizational development market in Eastern Europe, are starting a study to measure the degree of employment and integration of people with disabilities in the labor field in Romania.

What are the challenges for disabled employees and employers? How willing are Romanian companies to hire such people? What are the main methods of assisting them at work? What support measures do employers offer to integrate them? The currently available information is not sufficient to understand the situation of these people in the labor field in Romania. This study will help us identify practices and strategies to improve the employment and integration of people with disabilities locally.

"Romania has made considerable progress when it comes to employing people with disabilities. We want to see how we can further help such people to get a job and how we can support companies to hire and integrate them. And last but not least, how can we use technology to facilitate these processes".

Cornel Amariei, .lumen CEO & Co-Founder

"We were happy when the .lumen team invited us to help carry out this study. We will invite the human resources directors of the organizations we work with to contribute data and information, so that we get a picture as close as possible to reality."

Andrei Goșu, Managing Partner of Ascendis

The study will take place between December 2022 and March 2023 and the collected data will be analyzed in the first half of 2023. The final report will be available in relevant scientific publications.
